Graham was born in Singapore, the son of a Scottish Rubber Planter working in Malaysia, and attended Boarding School in Aberdeen, Scotland, UK and eventually studied at Scott Sutherland’s School of Architecture in Aberdeen, UK before qualifying as a Chartered Architect (RIBA, RIAS, ARB) in 1987.
He worked initially for 5 years based in Aberdeen, on oil-company-related projects including the Balgownie Technology Centre on the Aberdeen Science & Technology Park and Schlumberger’s Proposed New Wireline & Well Logging Base in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
This initial overseas work (while based in UK) attracted Graham to live and work abroad for the next 30 years: In 1991, to Indonesia (Jakarta and Bali) and transitioning to become a Project Manager on various building projects in Bulgaria: 1998, Jakarta: 2002, Sri Lanka: 2005 and Dubai, UAE: 2006 – 2020 latterly while working for a world-renowned British Interior Design Consultancy Company of 40+ staff as an Operations Manager & Project Manager.
Graham Benton has had the opportunity to play a leading role representing, managing, and assisting Clients, on some of the most prestigious building projects in the world, having previously lived and worked in: UK, Nigeria, Jakarta, Bali, Sofia, Sri Lanka, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Oman, Qatar, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Graham has returned to the UK in 2021 for family reasons, where he originally trained / qualified / started his career, and is looking forward to his next challenging role...
